Demerit Offense Policy

of the two-demerit areas unacceptable content
Bad content in notes
A student may be suspended or expelled immediately for persistent rebellion and disrespect, smoking, drugs, failure to adhere to dress code, obscene or pornographic content of notes, or any similar major offense.
FIRST OFFENSE: 20 demerits; parents notified, conference with principal or
administrator Student is not permitted to participate in next
athletic event.
SECOND OFFENSE: 35 demerits; parent-administrator conference, no athletic
activities or special school trips during the semester.
The student cannot be
exempt from final exams second semester.
THIRD OFFENSE: 45 demerits; student suspended. May be expelled at any time.
Demerits may be worked off at the rate of 2 per demerit-free week. After first offense, demerits may not be worked off. Demerits are posted.
